Configuration assurance and audit readiness
Security Hardening, Benchmark Testing and Pre-Audit Assessment
Reduce your attack surface, strengthen enterprise security, and build audit readiness with security hardening and evidence-based assessments grounded in applicable CIS Benchmarks.
Why secure configurations matter
Security hardening provides practical protection by reducing the attack surface. Disabling unnecessary services, removing excessive permissions, replacing insecure defaults, and protecting administrative interfaces closes opportunities attackers can exploit. Strong configurations reinforce your security tools and make systems harder to compromise. We test changes against business requirements before production deployment.
Benchmark assessments give organisations a repeatable way to compare effective settings with an agreed baseline. They reveal configuration gaps across systems and help detect drift after updates, deployments, and administrative changes. Reassessment turns a one-time checklist into an ongoing improvement programme with evidence, accountable owners, and verified remediation.
Reduce attack surface. Strengthen security.
Remediating configuration weaknesses removes attack opportunities and strengthens protection across the enterprise. We prioritise exposed assets, privileged access, and controls relevant to your threat model, addressing the weaknesses with the greatest security impact first.
Turn better baseline scores into stronger protection
Improving baseline scores through verified remediation means more secure settings are in place and fewer configuration weaknesses remain. We track progress across a comparable asset scope, benchmark version, and profile, reporting assessment coverage, manual checks, exceptions, and outstanding risks alongside the score. This connects measurable progress to the protections implemented.
Build clear evidence of security improvement
Dated evidence, approved exceptions, and verified remediation give your team a clear record of the protections implemented. An organised evidence pack supports audit preparation and customer security reviews, while accountable owners and tracked actions keep unresolved gaps visible.
Assess. Prioritise. Remediate. Verify. Repeat. Agree the baseline, validate the evidence, test approved changes, and reassess after material changes. Pre-audit review then organises that work into an evidence pack aligned with the external assessor's scope.
Security Hardening
Review operating systems, cloud platforms, network devices, and applications against an agreed secure baseline.
- Identify unnecessary access, exposed services, and configuration gaps.
- Plan approved changes with operational impact and rollback requirements.
- Validate remediation and document justified exceptions.
Benchmark Testing
Assess effective configurations against the relevant CIS Benchmark version and agreed profile.
- Combine supported automated checks with manual verification.
- Record results, evidence, applicability, and assessment coverage.
- Prioritise findings and retest agreed remediation.
Pre-Audit Assessment
Identify readiness gaps before an external audit and organise evidence against its agreed scope.
- Review baselines, change records, and supporting evidence.
- Prepare an evidence index and findings register.
- Assign remediation owners and highlight outstanding risks.
Independent configuration and readiness assessments, not CIS certification or performance testing. Benchmark materials and tools require applicable licences. Audit outcomes remain the external auditor's decision.
